Role: Workday Advanced Compensation Consultant (Higher Education/Healthcare)
Location: Remote (Preference for Southern California-based candidates)
Duration: 6–8 Months Contract
Pay Rate: $80 to $90
About the Role: The Client is seeking two experienced Workday Advanced Compensation Consultants to support a Higher Education client in Southern California. The engagement involves delivering advanced compensation configuration and related enhancements within the Workday HCM suite.
The ideal candidates will bring hands-on expertise in Workday Advanced Compensation, strong functional understanding of Compensation cycles, and prior experience working in university or hospital environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead or support the design, configuration, testing, and deployment of Workday Advanced Compensation solutions.
- Partner with HR, Compensation, and IT teams to analyse business requirements and translate them into effective Workday configurations.
- Support the annual compensation cycle, merit planning, bonus, and allowance setup.
- Perform configuration, testing (UAT, regression, end-to-end), and provide post-deployment support.
- Develop and maintain related documentation, including configuration guides and test scripts.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to ensure alignment with institutional policies and processes.
- Provide knowledge transfer and training to internal teams where required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 3–8 years of Workday HCM experience, with at least 2+ years specializing in Advanced Compensation.
- Proven experience implementing or supporting Workday Advanced Compensation modules (Merit, Bonus, Allowance, etc.).
- Strong understanding of Compensation frameworks within large institutions (preferably Higher Education or Healthcare).
- Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Workday certification in HCM or Compensation is a strong plus.
Preferred Background:
- Experience working with universities or hospitals.
- Familiarity with academic compensation structures, staff/faculty pay cycles, or union-based compensation plans.
- Prior experience in remote consulting delivery for higher-ed institutions.
