Role: WebMethods Integration Developer
Location: Sacramento, CA (Hybrid)
Duration: 6+ months
Pay Rate: $60 to $70
Overview: The Client is seeking a leased employee to support its 2026 IT organizational portfolio. The resource will design, develop, and secure APIs and integrations to support major capital projects across enterprise systems.
Key Responsibilities:
API Development
- Design and develop RESTful and/or SOAP APIs
- Integrate enterprise systems (GIS, ERP, Asset Mgmt, Project Controls, DMS)
- Secure APIs using OAuth 2.0, JWT, SAML, or Client-approved protocols
- Provide OpenAPI/Swagger documentation
- Version control and backward compatibility management
Integrations & Interoperability
- Build integrations across legacy, cloud, and third-party systems
- Develop middleware/connectors (event-driven, async, webhooks where applicable)
- Implement robust error handling, logging, monitoring, and transactional integrity
Security
- Ensure compliance with Client’s cybersecurity policies, NIST, CIS Controls
- Encryption in transit and at rest
- Secure API gateways, vulnerability assessments, audit trails
Scalability & Performance
- High availability, horizontal scalability, fault tolerance
- Define TPS and latency benchmarks for mission-critical processes
Testing & QA
- Unit, integration, system, and UAT testing
- Automated regression testing (webMethods Test Suite)
- Full documentation and knowledge transfer
Mandatory Requirements:
- 5+ years’ experience with webMethods Integration Platform
- 2+ years’ experience with IO/Cloud Integration (IC)
- Proven SAP RFC integration experience
- Strong Java service development experience
- Senior-level expertise with:
- Integration Server
- Universal Messaging
- API Gateway
- WebMethods Test Suite
- Trading Networks (EDI/TN)
- IO
Desirable Qualifications:
- Relevant certifications (Software AG webMethods, MuleSoft, AWS, Azure, PMP, etc.)
- Prior experience in public sector/utilities/energy environments
- Strong background in secure software development and IAM best practices
