Role: Python Developer
Location: Sacramento, CA (Hybrid)
Duration: 6 months
Pay Rate: $60 to $70
Scope: The Client is seeking an experienced Python Developer. The Python developer will expand an existing Client developed tool to extract data from Energy Exemplar’s Plexos modelling software into a Microsoft SQL database for the resource planning department. The application will be made generic to work with multiple department’s Plexos instances. As part of the engagement, the candidate will work closely with the business to understand the requirements and assist them in creating Agile user stories. In addition, the candidate will work with the vendor Energy Exemplar to change the existing data extraction from binary to Apache Parquet format.
Mandatory Requirements:
- 3+ years minimum experience developing Python applications including libraries Flask and Pandas.
- 3+ years minimum experience creating and optimizing SQL scripts.
- Ability to gather requirements from business users and successfully implement a project.
Technical Requirements:
- The proposed contractor must be able to work with business users to determine the requirements and implement them.
- The Contractors will work in an Agile framework participating in two-week sprints.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Knowledge of using JIRA for Agile development. Experience with Agile framework.
- Experience with Apache Parquet format.
Assumptions:
- Contractors must have reliable internet, work exclusively within the United States.
- Contractors must be available for any meetings generally scheduled between the hours 9 am and 5 pm Pacific Time.
- This is a hybrid, contractors will be required to be on-site during the beginning of the project and will work with the Task Manager on hybrid schedule.
