Overview: The Department of Information Technology (DoIT) provides essential technology services that support County departments in delivering high‑quality public services. DoIT oversees networking, communications, security, hardware support, web services, application support, and enterprise systems. This assignment offers a unique chance to support a major, high‑visibility initiative benefiting departments and communities. As an Information Systems Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in coordinating the Client’s telephony modernization efforts across multiple departments and sites. This is an excellent opportunity for a project management professional who enjoys cross‑departmental collaboration, technical implementation, and structured rollout planning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and coordinate modernization activities to assist in the transition from copper to fiber across Client’s departments and physical sites.
- Work closely with the project team to organize hardware and software deployment and installation.
- Oversee the removal of legacy telecommunications hardware as new systems are introduced.
- Support a smooth transition by facilitating staff training deliverables and scheduling training offerings.
- Track project milestones, help manage timelines, and coordinate communications related to implementation progress.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Skilled in managing multi‑department telecommunications projects.
- Experienced in developing projects and work plans.
- Demonstrated strength in developing clear policies and procedures and creating effective training that supports staff through organizational and technical changes.
- Organized, adaptable, and able to manage multiple moving parts concurrently.
- Strong communicator who collaborates effectively with technical staff, vendors including telecommunications carriers, and customer departments.
- Comfortable with structured planning, documentation, and timeline tracking.
- Knowledgeable about project management methodologies and able to apply them in real‑world environments.
