Role: Information Systems Project Manager
Location: Martinez, CA (Hybrid)
Duration: 6+ months Contract to Hire
Pay Rate: $60 to $65

Overview: Under general direction, the Information Systems Project Manager is responsible for planning and managing the development and implementation of large, complex computer systems projects. This role supervises programming and systems support resources, leads systems analysis and development activities, ensures compliance with IT standards, and oversees the delivery of projects that have significant organizational impact.

  • Potential optimization of our ERP system
  • While specific platform experience is not a strict requirement, familiarity with platforms on our current and future roadmap would be considered a plus.
  • Healthcare industry experience is preferred but not required. Given the environment, candidates should demonstrate an ability to adapt to the nuances of Client’s health system transformation work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as project manager on large, complex systems development and implementation projects.
  • Manage project scope, schedules, deliverables, and risks using modern project management methodologies (Waterfall and Agile).
  • Supervise feasibility studies, time/cost estimates, and progress reports; prepare recommendations and evaluations for management review.
  • Oversee design, configuration, testing, and deployment of enterprise-level systems and applications.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts for hardware and software issues, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Manage high-risk, high-impact, strategic projects across cross-functional and multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Partner with user departments to analyze operational and regulatory requirements, determine system capabilities, and define specifications.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders, vendors, and suppliers for project execution and delivery.
  • Develop and enforce standards for data management, integrity, security, and recovery within assigned projects.
  • Direct and coordinate end-user training and support to ensure system adoption and compliance.
  • Provide leadership in the evaluation and selection of contract firms; assist in the contracting process.
  • Communicate project vision, objectives, scope, outcomes, timelines, and resource requirements to leadership and stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Communication, Information Processing, or a closely related field.
  • Experience:
    • Four (4) years of full-time experience managing complex information systems projects.
    • At least three (3) years of project management responsibility for large application systems, including team leadership experience.
  • Substitution: Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis, up to two (2) years.

Knowledge & Skills:
Knowledge of:

  • Principles and practices of project management.
  • Software development life cycle (SDLC) and information systems infrastructure.
  • System testing, analysis, and security administration.
  • IT processes, data management, and modern collaboration tools.

Ability to:

  • Manage complex IT projects from initiation through implementation.
  • Design, configure, test, and troubleshoot enterprise systems.
  • Apply principles of business and public administration to technology projects.
  • Establish strong stakeholder partnerships and facilitate effective communication.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams and vendors to deliver business-critical outcomes.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely in both oral and written formats.
  • Lead, mentor, and evaluate project teams.

Preferred Skills & Competencies:

  • PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile/Scrum certification.
  • Experience with enterprise-level ERP, financial, or case management systems.
  • Strong vendor management and contract negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated success in delivering high-visibility, high-impact IT projects.
