Role: Information Systems Program/Analyst

Overview: The Information Systems Program/Analyst – Business Intelligence & Reporting is responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining business intelligence, reporting solutions, and data analytics tools. This role supports the transition of legacy reporting systems to new platforms, builds dashboards and ad hoc reports, and collaborates with business stakeholders to provide reliable, actionable data insights. Work involves technical analysis, report design, and data validation tasks in support of County operations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Analyze and document existing reports and reporting requirements from the legacy system to support migration to a new reporting environment.
- Design, develop, test, and implement reports, dashboards, and visualizations using tools such as SAP BusinessObjects, Power BI, Tableau, and other reporting platforms.
- Create and maintain ad hoc and scheduled reports to meet business stakeholder needs.
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications and data models.
- Perform data extraction, transformation, and validation to ensure accurate and consistent reporting results.
- Reconcile data between legacy and new systems, ensuring data integrity throughout the migration process.
- Collaborate with Systems Analysts, IT and business units to troubleshoot reporting issues and resolve data discrepancies.
- Document reporting standards, data definitions, processes, and system workflows.
- Provide user training and support for reporting tools and dashboards.
- Participate in quality assurance activities, including test planning, execution, and validation of report outputs.
- Support development and maintenance of database queries, scripts, and stored procedures as needed.
- Contribute to ongoing improvements in reporting processes and data analytics practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong experience delivering reports and dashboards using SAP BusinessObjects, Power BI, and/or Tableau.
- Strong SQL skills and familiarity with relational databases.
- Experience analyzing complex data sets and performing data validation/reconciliation.
- Ability to work collaboratively with business units to elicit reporting requirements.
- Prior experience with enterprise system report migrations or legacy-to-new system transitions.
- Familiarity with data warehousing, ETL concepts, and reporting governance best practices.
- Experience working in a public sector or government IT environment.
- Prior experience delivering user training and documentation for reporting tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
