Location: San Leandro, CA (1 to 2 days onsite)
Duration: 6 Months Contract to Hire
Pay Rate: $50 to $55

Overview: The Information Systems Coordinator (ISC) plays a critical role in bridging the gap between programmatic data requestors and technical analytics teams. Under general supervision, this position is responsible for managing, developing, and coordinating data analytics requests related to health and social data systems. The ISC serves as a strategic thought partner, problem solver, and data visualization expert, enabling the organization to leverage integrated, cross-sector data for improved insights and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:
Data Analytics and Program Coordination

  • Lead the design, development, and management of data analysis and reporting services using health and social information systems data.
  • Plan, organize, and coordinate analytics programs and services, including oversight of deliverables, compliance tracking, and program enhancements.
  • Act as a key liaison between program stakeholders and technical analytics teams to ensure accurate translation of requirements and timely project delivery.
  • Implement project management practices, including intake procedures, requirements documentation, and deliverable tracking.
  • Support program policy implementation, communication coordination, and team workflow management.
  • Organize and conduct program-related meetings, training sessions, and events.

Stakeholder Engagement and Data Translation

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define data and reporting requirements that align with program objectives.
  • Develop proxy measures and meaningful indicators when direct data is unavailable.
  • Translate complex technical and data concepts into clear, actionable insights for non-technical audiences.
  • Provide expert recommendations on using cross-sector integrated data for improved analytics.
  • Guide stakeholders on data visualization best practices to ensure impactful and actionable reporting.
  • Manage the prioritization of analytics requests based on urgency and programmatic value.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interface across all organizational levels.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret and simplify complex data concepts.
  • Proficiency in SQL and relational database management systems.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Qlik, or Tableau.
  • Familiarity with project management and ticketing systems (e.g., Azure DevOps, Jira).
  • Preferred experience with Microsoft Azure, Azure Synapse, Snowflake, and DAX.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related technical field.
  • 3+ years of experience in data management, analytics, or reporting roles.
  • 2+ years of experience in healthcare, public sector, or related data informatics environments.
  • 3+ years of experience with SQL, Python, and/or Java for data manipulation and reporting.
  • 3+ years of experience developing data visualizations in Power BI or equivalent platforms.
  • 2+ years of experience in data schema design and dimensional data modeling.
