Role: Compliance Consultant
Location: Martinez, CA (Hybrid)
Duration: 6+ Months
Pay Rate: $50 to $55
Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Compliance Consultant to support regulatory compliance activities for Medi-Cal and Commercial lines of business. The ideal candidate will have strong experience working with DHCS (Department of Health Care Services) and DMHC (Department of Managed Health Care) regulations, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements, managing filings, and coordinating audits and reporting activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage regulatory filings and support regular/ad hoc reporting for Medi-Cal and Commercial lines of business
- Lead and coordinate DHCS/DMHC regulatory notice compliance and implementation, including conducting Operational Gap Analysis (OGA)
- Interpret and communicate regulatory guidance, ensuring timely dissemination across stakeholders
- Maintain and manage regulatory trackers for requirements, communications, and deliverables
- Develop and update regulatory report inventory to ensure completeness and audit readiness
- Participate in DHCS/DMHC regulatory calls, meetings, and webinars to stay aligned with evolving compliance requirements
- Facilitate Regulatory Notice Workgroups, driving collaboration across cross-functional teams
- Coordinate and oversee regulatory filings submission ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Support audit coordination, including preparation, documentation, and response management for DHCS/DMHC audits
Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience in healthcare regulatory compliance, preferably within Medi-Cal or Commercial health plans
- Strong knowledge of DHCS and DMHC regulations and reporting requirements
- Experience with regulatory filings, audits, and compliance reporting
- Ability to perform gap analysis and implement corrective action plans
- Excellent project management and organizational skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Experience maintaining compliance trackers, documentation, and reporting inventories
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience working with California healthcare regulatory bodies
- Familiarity with compliance tools, reporting systems, and audit frameworks
- Experience facilitating cross-functional workgroups or governance meetings
