Pay Rate: $60 to $70
Overview: This is a hands-on compensation execution role, not strategy-heavy. The consultant must be able to step in with minimal ramp time and support immediately.
Dealbreaker: If the individual has executive compensation and/or experience designing bonus structures.
Core Compensation Responsibilities
- Market pricing using multiple surveys (CUPA, Radford, Mercer, IPEDS, etc.)
- Salary structure design (ranges, midpoints, compa‑ratio analysis)
- Job architecture work:
- Job families
- Sub-families
- Levels
- Titles
- Job description creation, review, and refinement
- Annual compensation cycle support:
- Merit planning
- Merit decisioning
- Year-end processes
- Position reclassification & new position evaluation
Consulting & Client Service
- Experience working in an internal compensation department
- Ability to advise HRBPs and managers (not just process transactions)
- Ability to operate independently with minimal onboarding
Systems Experience (Preferred)
- Workday (Comp module, job profiles, ranges)
- ServiceNow (HR workflows, job changes)
- MarketPay (salary survey management)
