Role: Business Systems Analyst (PeopleSoft Financials)
Location: Remote (Pacific Time Zone)
Duration: 6+ months (possible extension)
Pay Rate: $70 to $80
Overview: We are seeking an ambitious Business Systems Analyst (BSA) to join our PeopleSoft Competency Center. The team supports Field and Global Financials operations in PeopleSoft 9.x, leveraging API integrations, AWS (Lambda, S3, API Gateway), automation, and other tools for file and document transfers. The BSA will play a key role in managing integration between PeopleSoft Financials, PeopleSoft HCM, Workday, Salesforce, and other enterprise applications, with a future roadmap to transition to Workday.
Candidate Will:
- Analyze business problems, perform data mapping, and design cost-effective solutions.
- Write and execute complex SQL queries to validate requirements, troubleshoot, and support reporting.
- Create functional designs, test plans/scripts, and SDLC documentation.
- Collaborate with users, IT partners, and technical teams to validate requirements and resolve issues.
- Support production environments, including testing, troubleshooting, and assisting during go-lives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze and document business requirements, perform fit/gap analysis, and recommend automated solutions.
- Perform data mapping across systems and integrations, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
- Create functional design documents, test specifications, and SDLC documentation.
- Plan and execute system, integration, and user acceptance testing, including test design and scripting.
- Write and run SQL queries for validation, reporting, and troubleshooting purposes.
- Configure system settings and options as needed within PeopleSoft.
- Provide functional expertise across ERP systems and integrations (PeopleSoft, Workday, Salesforce, etc.).
- Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to resolve application and integration issues.
- Create process flow diagrams and business process documentation.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members, assign and track work, and conduct training sessions.
- Conduct meetings with stakeholders, present project deliverables, and provide status updates.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Science, Engineering, or equivalent.
- 6+ years of experience in business/functional analysis, preferably in ERP environments.
- Ability to write, run, and optimize complex SQL queries.
- Strong data mapping and business requirement analysis
- Experience with test design and scripting for SIT/UAT cycles.
- Familiarity with PeopleSoft App Engine and App Designer (plus).
- SME-level knowledge in at least one PeopleSoft Financials module (AP, AR, GL, Billing, PO) and working knowledge of others.
- Extensive experience with enterprise applications and integrations.
- Experience with full-cycle SDLC projects and methodologies such as Agile and Waterfall.
- Strong ability to communicate business requirements to technical teams and technical details to business stakeholders.
- Strong documentation skills, including functional design docs, test plans, and monitoring plans.
- Ability to develop project plans, presentations, and process flows.
- Leadership ability to provide training, mentorship, and guidance to junior analysts.
- Excellent facilitation, presentation, and communication skills.
