Role: Azure Cloud Consultant
Location: Vacaville/Pleasanton, CA (Remote)
Duration: 12 Months
Pay Rate: $75 to $80
Overview: The Client is seeking an Azure Cloud Consultant to drive and coordinate three critical enterprise transformation initiatives: M365 Migration, Azure Migration, and Nutanix Migration. This role will serve as the technical lead interfacing with vendors, architects, SMEs, and infrastructure teams to ensure successful delivery of all migration activities within aggressive timelines.
Must Haves:
- Azure Core Infrastructure & Services: Compute and Storage, Data Platforms, Microsoft Azure Well-Architected Framework
- Network and Hybrid Connectivity: Azure virtual Network (vNets) subnet, routings, NSGs and Application Gateways. Hybrid cloud: Proficiency in designing secure on-prem to cloud connections using VPN Gateway, Azure ExpressRoute and Azure Bastion
- Security, Identity and Governance: Identify Management, Compliance and Governance,
- Automation and DevOps: IaC using Terraform, Ansible and GitHub
- Azure Virtual Desktop: Utilize Terraform to build out new AVD environment, Plan and implement migration from on-prem VDI to AVD
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead migration of workloads to Microsoft 365.
- Migrate servers and applications from VMware to Microsoft Azure.
- Deploy and manage Nutanix environments for datacenter and remote office migrations.
- Review and develop architecture and migration plans for Azure and Nutanix.
- Coordinate with vendors, architects, and internal IT teams to resolve complex technical issues.
- Provide technical leadership, root-cause analysis, and operational support.
- Develop automation using Ansible and Python.
- Ensure cloud and virtualization designs follow security best practices.
- Optimize Azure infrastructure performance and cloud spending.
- Lead project planning, implementation, documentation, and cross-functional coordination.
Required Skills:
- Advanced expertise in Microsoft Azure, Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), and Microsoft 365.
- Strong experience with Nutanix and VMware virtualization platforms.
- Knowledge of Azure and AWS cloud architecture.
- Experience with Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Sentinel, and Purview.
- Strong understanding of Azure networking, enterprise routing, switching, firewalls, load balancers, VPNs, and network security.
- Experience with SAN, NAS, FC/iSCSI storage technologies.
- Strong automation skills using Python and Ansible.
- Proven project leadership and vendor management experience.
Preferred Background:
- Experience leading large-scale cloud and datacenter migrations.
- Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
- Ability to work across infrastructure, cloud, security, and operations teams.
- Experience mentoring technical staff and transferring knowledge.
- Comfortable participating in on-call rotations and after-hours support.
