Role: ClearPath Consultant
Location: Remote
Duration: 3+ Months (Contract)
Pay Rate: $70 t0 $85
Overview: We are seeking an experienced ClearPath Consultant to support critical mainframe operations and modernization initiatives. The consultant will work closely with technical and functional teams to manage, optimize, and potentially migrate systems running on Unisys ClearPath platforms (MCP or OS 2200). Experience in Higher Education environments is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert-level support for Unisys ClearPath systems, including day-to-day operations, tuning, and troubleshooting.
- Assist with application and data integration, modernization, and potential migration strategies for legacy systems.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, database, and application teams to ensure high availability and performance.
- Develop and maintain documentation including system architecture, operating procedures, and recovery plans.
- Support compliance, security, and risk mitigation efforts as they relate to ClearPath environments.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 7+ years of hands-on experience with Unisys ClearPath MCP or OS 2200
- Strong command of mainframe operations, job control language (JCL), batch processing, and system performance tuning.
- Experience with system troubleshooting, diagnostics, and capacity planning.
- Proficient in supporting legacy platforms in a mission-critical environment.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently in a remote setting.
