Role: JCL Specialist
Location: Remote
Duration: 2–3 months, potential extension (part-time)
Pay Rate: $60 to $65
Overview: Seeking a JCL Specialist to support a migration testing team with hands-on JCL expertise. The resource will help troubleshoot and modify JCL, support test execution, validate files/datasets, and resolve JCL-related testing issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Modify, write, and troubleshoot JCL for mainframe testing.
- Support test execution, job setup, and batch processing.
- Troubleshoot JCL errors, job failures, return codes, and dataset issues.
- Assist with file/dataset creation, validation, and test data setup.
- Support triage and root-cause analysis of testing issues.
- Review job output/spool and validate expected results.
- Provide JCL knowledge transfer and guidance to the testing team.
Required Skills:
- Strong hands-on JCL/z/OS experience.
- Experience with mainframe batch processing and testing.
- Strong knowledge of JOB, EXEC, DD statements, datasets, GDGs, parameters, and return codes.
- Experience troubleshooting JCL and reviewing SDSF/job output.
- Mainframe migration, regression, or baseline testing experience preferred.
- Strong communication and ability to work independently.
