Role: Senior Java Developer/Architect
Location: Oakland, CA (Hybrid – 2-3 days onsite, Wednesdays mandatory)
Duration: 3+ months
Pay Rate: $70 to $75
Summary: We are seeking an experienced Java Developer/Architect to architect, develop, and modernize enterprise Java applications supporting mission-critical tax systems. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience designing enterprise Java solutions, integrating legacy systems, and leading application architecture initiatives. This role combines hands-on Java development with architectural leadership across enterprise platforms.
Must Have: Java, JBoss Enterprise Application Server, Java EE/Jakarta EE, DB2 & SQL Server, CICS Gateway Integration, RESTful APIs & Enterprise Integration Patterns
Required Skills:
- 8+ years of enterprise Java development experience
- Strong experience designing enterprise application architecture
- Extensive experience with JBoss Enterprise Application Server
- Strong knowledge of Java EE/Jakarta EE
- Experience with DB2 and SQL Server
- Experience with Jasper Reports
- Experience integrating applications using CICS Gateway
- Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and enterprise integration patterns
- Experience working in Linux environments
- Experience performing architecture reviews and mentoring development teams
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience modernizing legacy Java applications
- Government or public sector experience
- Experience with containerization and cloud platforms
- Experience with CI/CD and DevOps practices
