Pay Rate: $60 to $70

Overview: This is a hands-on compensation execution role, not strategy-heavy. The consultant must be able to step in with minimal ramp time and support immediately.

Dealbreaker: If the individual has executive compensation and/or experience designing bonus structures.

Core Compensation Responsibilities

  • Market pricing using multiple surveys (CUPA, Radford, Mercer, IPEDS, etc.)
  • Salary structure design (ranges, midpoints, compa‑ratio analysis)
  • Job architecture work:
    • Job families
    • Sub-families
    • Levels
    • Titles
  • Job description creation, review, and refinement
  • Annual compensation cycle support:
    • Merit planning
    • Merit decisioning
    • Year-end processes
  • Position reclassification & new position evaluation

 
Consulting & Client Service

  • Experience working in an internal compensation department
  • Ability to advise HRBPs and managers (not just process transactions)
  • Ability to operate independently with minimal onboarding

 
Systems Experience (Preferred)

  • Workday (Comp module, job profiles, ranges)
  • ServiceNow (HR workflows, job changes)
  • MarketPay (salary survey management)
