Job Title: Workday HCM Engineer
Location: Walnut Creek, CA (Onsite)
Duration: 6 months
Pay Rate: $70 to $80

Overview: We are seeking a certified, hands-on Workday HCM Engineer to serve as a subject matter expert across multiple Workday HCM modules. This role will be responsible for designing, configuring, and supporting scalable Workday solutions that enable a best-in-class employee experience and support strategic business outcomes. The ideal candidate brings deep functional and technical expertise across Core HCM, Talent, Recruiting, Compensation, and Time & Absence, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced, enterprise environment with evolving priorities.
 
Key Responsibilities:

  • Translate complex business requirements into scalable Workday configurations across Core HCM, Recruiting, Talent, Compensation, and Time & Absence.
  • Design and deliver Workday HCM solutions that support enterprise-scale operations and enhance employee experience.
  • Configure, test, and deploy Workday changes across Core HCM, Time & Absence, Recruiting, Compensation, and Security.
  • Support and continuously improve existing Workday modules, including Learning & Development and Performance Management.
  • Conduct deep-dive analysis of the current Workday landscape to identify technical debt and recommend improvements to performance, error handling, and scalability.
  • Support Workday biannual releases, including feature impact analysis, configuration updates, and regression testing.
  • Document business processes, procedures, workflows, and system configurations.
  • Clearly communicate technical capabilities, constraints, and recommendations to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Provide user training, system documentation, and ongoing production support.

 
Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of hands-on Workday experience in enterprise environments.
  • Strong expertise in Workday Core HCM with exposure to Recruiting, Talent, Compensation, and Time & Absence.
  • Deep understanding of Workday Business Process Framework and Security models.
  • Proven experience configuring, testing, and deploying Workday solutions.

 
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active Workday Core HCM Certification.
  • Experience supporting Workday Learning, Performance, and Talent modules
  • Prior experience supporting Workday release cycles in large organizations.
